In today's money-driven world people want to cut down expenses. When you have debt your mind creates a priority list. Unfortunately food comes in on the last places. This is a less than ideal diet and if you think you might even loose a couple of extra pounds this will rather get you sick than slim. Less food with less meals increases stress on your organism. Protein metabolism increases breakdown of these essential building blocks and you in turn feel tired and overwhelmed.
This is one of the problems with saving money over food. Another is that of low quality, cheap food or junk food. The production of these snacks relies heavily on machines and biochemistry. For example you might find milk that was never even close to a cow... Biochemistry has proven a guardian angel for the food industry creating substances that mimic essences, flavors, smell or other substances that can keep food for longer in your fridge. These foreign structures mean great stress for the human liver and kidney that need to clear them from your organism and keeping them busy means that your metabolism needs to be boosted in order for all the bits and pieces to work together in perfect harmony. You have 2 choices: one of them is to return to healthy "bio"-food which unfortunately leads to bigger expenses or you can continue to eat junk food and hope that biochemists got their calculations right; it has already been proven that some substances have increased cancer risk associated and their use has been restricted by the FDA. How can you know that one "harmless" substance contained in your favorite chips or hot-dog will not be black listed in 5 years.
Reccession is not a diet program. Diets need to be healthy and when you end it you need to feel good, your body has to be full with energy with less fat and more proteins and your metabolism should be in fine balance between anabolism and catabolism, i.e. building and burning. Harsh economical times are not the way to loose weight because your metabolism will switch to war mode and you surely saw people that survive the war but don't look healthy at all. Try not to spare money to pay debt over a healthy meal. Maybe you should consider financial advice or refinancing.
